Holms on the Great Falls of the Potomac and at the National Cathedral

Our mission office was on Falls Road, and on Memorial Day (by ourselves) and July 4 (with Connells,) we drove to the end of the road and saw the Potomac cascading over these beautiful waterfalls. We saw a tiny new fawn hiding in bushes. Here, canal boats sit in locks of the old Ohio and Chesapeake Canal, and people do yoga on the pavement. On July 4 we also had a picnic with Coles, Connells and Lambs, our senior missionary friends and neighbors. (Actually, we learned-- when a masseuse gave us a demo on a sidewalk-- that people do this in quite a few places in Md.)

While Anna and Holly visited their Aunt Rachel Zobell, Emily went to church with us and to the National Cathedral. It is a gorgeous place. When we went outside, a man saw Debbie's missionary name tag and asked, "Sister, what time is the choir concert this afternoon?"
