Going UP in the Washington Monument! and... Air and Space Museum (in DC)

In October, we managed to get tickets to go up in the Washington Monument--but on a weekday!  We left the office in the hands of Workmans (it was one of their first days in the mission!) and with Coles and Connells, we rode the Metro to DC to go up in the Monument. It was a gorgeous fall day and we could see for miles-- we could even see the Washington DC Temple!! We learned a lot of amazing history behind the Monument and how it was built, the forces of nature it has withstood, and the icon that it is. Three helicopters landed at the White House, and the guide told us when there are three, you know the President is in one of them.  (That's as close as we came to seeing Pres. Biden in person!)

In the winter, we went to the Air and Space Museum in DC--one of Norm's favorites of our whole mission! That day we also went to the National Archives, and we saw the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and other important documents. They do not allow photos.
